| The last five
years have seen a large population increase in the Languedoc Roussillon
Region. Most of this growth has been concentrated around Montpellier
and Nime and along the coast. The Aude department has not however
remianed uneffected, the Carcassonne Grussan axis has seen substancial
re-population and development, both of old property and the building
of small estates, lotissement. Lezignan Corbieres, once a sleepy
market town has seen huge develoipment, with two new supermarkets
and a developing indutrsial estate between Lezignan and the Auto-route.
According to the Marire the population has 410 new residents in
two years.
